Following a recent meeting between the Minister Jim Fitzpatrick, DSA officials and motorcycle interest groups, DSA has announced that the introduction of the new motorcycle test will be deferred by six months to Monday 30 March 2009. This deferment will allow DSA to deliver a wider range of locations to offer the new test.
DAM is part of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and is affiliated to the British Motorcycle Federation (BMF).
The principal aim of the group, is to promote road safety by raising riding skills. with the ultimate goal of passing the Advanced Motorcycle Test. The Advanced Test is about making safe smooth progress with maximum hazard awareness and machine control. It closely mirrors the techniques taught to police riders throughout the country.
PAM - If you live in the Plymouth area then the Plymouth Advanced Motorcyclists group (PAM) is your local IAM affiliated group. PAM is run by enthusiastic and friendly volunteers and we are always interested in welcoming new people.
PAM group exists in order to help you become a safer rider; by supporting your preparation for the Advanced Test. This support mainly takes the form of observed one-to-one ride outs, but also includes specific group ride outs, group meeting presentations and of course general support from both fellow Associate and Full members.
